Butler Tanner & Dennis win ‘Best British Book’ award!

In partnership with The National Gallery, this 272 page full colour book was written by Oliver Peyton and designed by Smith & Gilmour.

The Awards promote and acknowledge the ingenuity, creativity and vigour that go into book design and production in Great Britain and it was a record year with over 450 entrants and with over 350 guests attending on the night. It comprised of 15 categories including: Best British Book, Exhibition Catalogues, Digitally printed books, Children’s Trade as well as an Environmental Award (we were also shortlisted in this category for Alastair Sawday’s ‘Special Places to Stay: Green Europe’) for the book that was produced using best practice in environmental management.

BPIF Chief Executive Michael Johnson said, “We saw an exceptionally high standard of entrants this year and our judging panel did not have an easy job deciding the winners.

It was a fantastic celebration of the outstanding creativity and quality found in British book design and production. The BPIF would like to congratulate the winners and all those who have put time and effort into creating such excellent examples of book design and production.”

Jeremy Snell, Sales Director of Butler Tanner and Dennis said, “We are of course delighted to win such a prestigious award and this is both testament to the progress the company has made over the last 14 months, our close association with The National Gallery and our dedication to Great British Printing.”
